Even people who aren't Star Trek fans have possibly seen the famous image of the "giant space amoeba" from the classic series episode "The Immunity Syndrome."It turns out that this wasn't one of those silly 1960s notions that looks ridiculous in re-runs. Well... okay, maybe it does look a little silly. But it's basically true, according to some astronomers.
I am still wondering how I missed the Eugenics Wars last decade, though.
