Day 7, 5:00-6:00 AM

The bad guys are going to release the gas "within the hour." (Drink!)

Oops, after that little test, now they'll only have enough to kill between 7,995 and 9,995.

The evil Miss Bowden seems to think she's on Alias instead of 24.

Renee's not really even on the fence anymore -- she's all dark side.

Cue "Dueling Banjos" for Chloe and Janis.

"Dammit, Chloe!" (Drink!)

A protected witness died in federal custody, but Olivia didn't foresee "justice" getting involved. She's more cynical about government than I am.

Of course Kim Bauer's flight is delayed. She has power over calamities great and small.

Tony's device is "damaged badly?" Looks like the screen is cracked to me. Hell, I have friends who used cell phones that looked just like that for months.

More Dueling Banjos.

Tony throws Jack for a loop. He's not used to having his bluff called. (Not that Jack bluffs that often.)

Nice thinking, Jibraan, with the "I have a bomb!" ploy. Well, then it wasn't really a ploy, was it?

Jack comes out of the van proclaiming, "do NOT light a match."

Jack knows his daughter too well, and has assigned an agent to make sure she doesn't get into trouble. Unfortunately, if your agent is so lame that Kim can actually spot him, he's not going to be up to the job.

Her plane will arrive "within the hour." (Drink!)

Come on, Kim! NEVER leave your bags unattended!

Ethan can be at the White House "within the half hour." What? Do I take half a drink now?

Really, writers? After all we've been through together, all the ridicule you've taken over the years, and you're going to really end this season on "Kim in jeopardy?"

They're monitoring Jack's phone call. So, what, he couldn't write something down? Are we just supposed to assume his shakes have gotten so bad he can't hold a pen?

I thought it was awesome that Aaron brought up the hidden recording device established in previous 24 lore. Olivia should have gotten the "special eraser program" from her guy before she transferred the funds to the assassin's account. come to think of it, she should have given the money to her "friend" and had him pay off the assassin instead, since it was his idea to go ahead with the hit.

I think the whole Kim-hostage thing would have been cooler if she was actually ON the plane. like there would be no way to get to her for a rescue. it was a clever twist how she noticed the guy who turned out to be the good guy and pointed it out to the bad guys. but WTF that airport was busy, they clearly showed lots of people all around. and nobody else came into the bathroom during the whole strangle scene? I've been to a few airports and the bathrooms are always crowded.

I don't like the whole logic behind the hostage takers demanding the heroes to kill other "good guys" to save the hostage(s). without a guarantee that they won't just kill the hostage(s) anyway? do we really think Jack would kill Renee and the 3 or 4 other FBI guys in that truck to save 1 Kim?

Chloe had some great lines it was like watching her and Janis playing volleyball. Janis with the setup.... Chloe spikes it! you see it coming but it's mega fun anyway.

"All right, guys, that's a wrap! Good job on this season, everyone!"

"Uh, Mr. Braga? There's still two hours left."

"What?"

"We've only done 22 hours."

"Oh. Well, what do we usually do to waste time on this show?"

"Well, there was that time with a cougar with Kim in season 2. That was a complete waste of time."

"I like it! Ok, Kim's in jeopardy! We can milk a couple of useless hours out of that!"

Only thing that would make it better is if the "kidnap couple's" last name was "Cougar." Maybe John Cougar's distant terrorist relatives?

"
Daughter Kim, almost old enough now to be a cougar herself, is back tonight."

Heh...so many jokes. Hell, even Fox knows that character is a joke. This is from their official synopsis:

"Jack is faced with an unthinkable situation while his perpetually imperiled daughter, Kim (guest star Cuthbert), gets involved."
