Those of you out there who own a Nintendo Wii know that, as we're still early in the life of the console, there aren't that many really good games available for it yet. I personally enjoy playing the Wii Sports game it came with more than anything else I've picked up.
Then there are people who have just as fun making "Mii" characters as playing any actual games. If you're one of these people, I invite you to look at what the web has to offer in the wonderful world of Celebrity Miis.
Just this one contest alone produced a truly funny Zach Braff, an uncannily accurate Jack Black, and an "I didn't even know you could make the Mii creation program do that" Admiral Ackbar. And that's just one link among many.
Anyway, something to keep everyone occupied until Super Mario Galaxy comes along.

I don't know about the "no good games" part... just more short mini-game type things. We're enjoying Mario Party 8, WarioWare, and Elebits at the moment. Marble Mania was really good, but too short to buy.
I think developers are still trying to figure out the Wiimote - they're used to just making prettier monsters and realistic blood splatters - having to build new gameplay seems to be a bit harder...
Mostly the issue is that we're too cheap (read: every time I think about spending the money, I think of putting it in the B's college fund instead) to buy games for it. There are three or four games I want that are out now, and probably four or five more upcoming ones, but we'll get them used or something like that once the prices start to come down. I can be patient.
Do you want our Wii friend code? I'd leave it here, but I don't want my seekrit code on the internets. :)
I tried to make Star Trek Miis but I was terrible at it. making celebrity Miis is harder than it looks...
and I gotta say again that Wii Zelda was one of the best games I've ever played. mostly because of the visceral experience of having to stand (mostly) while playing so I could swing my sword! some of those boss battles felt like I was really there (okay well much more so than other games)

Don't mention "Mario Party" around Evan. He goes into convulsions.
Mine is pretty much gathering dust. I've probably spent more time on the VC than actual Wii games. I'm interested in RE4 because I haven't played it yet, but I don't have much on my radar. I'm willing to exchange friend codes as well.
The Wii had good games, the issue is that most of them are party/multiplayer games. Wii Sports, Wii Play, and Wario Ware are great to play with friends, but nothing I would spend a ton of time with by myself. Excite Truck is fortunately good in both single and multiplayer modes.
The single player experiences that currently interest me are Zelda, Super Paper Mario, and Resident Evil (which I just picked up due to FYE having a $10 mail-in rebate for it). And the virtual console has plenty of great single and multiplayer games, even if I do think they are overpriced by about 30%. (I'm partial to the 1up.com VC reviews)
Finally, I received the Ackbar Mii in that link from a friend and it is awesome. The best non-friend Mii that my friends and I have worked on is a Michael Jackson one.
And I too would be interested in exchanging friend codes.
To everyone who offered up their Wii friend code, I'm in. Except that I haven't even bothered to set up the wireless connection on my Wii yet. When I get around it, I'll drop you an e-mail.
Let's post them here, then. I'll grab mine tonight.
I'd love to see how accurate Evan's Mii will be.
