Of course, if the kid is anything like me, he'll find out in a few weeks that there really aren't all that many good games for Wii, and he hardly ever uses it.

I'll resist the urge to post all of the "good" games but it all depends on game tastes I guess.
and who plays anything else besides the bowling? I heard that real bowling alleys are suffering from customers staying home playing Wii Sports bowling instead. you even hear the guy mention bowling in the midst of the excited kid's screaming.
speaking of excited screaming. I was close to being that excited when I saw the new Star Trek movie trailer. on the inside at least... I didn't scream in the theatre of course!
