Deep Freeze

This very nifty pattern of frost was on the roof of my car tonight.

It's an incredibly small thing, one I could never have named off the top of my head, but it's one of the many things I've missed, not living in Colorado for so many years.

'Tis pretty. As long as it's on the car roof. If I have to scrape it off the windshield, it loses some of its allure.

I miss the intense red/orange/yellow fall foliage that only comes from sugar maples, which are sadly lacking in Tidewater.

It's very pretty on someone else's car :-)

I hear you about things you never realized you missed. Can any scientists here explain why frost does that in CO but not VA?

ipzawk!
