Nice Doggie

Sangediver just posted about a fun, time-wasting web game with physics (knowing how much I love bragging about physics in video games). So I have to up the ante.

Behold, the ultimate internet waste-of-time game: Don't Shoot the Puppy.

I can't make it past level 7 myself.

Okay, I give up! What's the joke? (I can't figure it out...)

There's 15 levels to the doggie... they are disgustingly cute... and I beat all 15 levels in 11 minutes... You (DrH) can't make it past level 7... the folks on the site were saying 12 and 15 were hard... I'm missing a joke, aren't I?

It was a great waste of time :D

I don't know...personally I found level 10 painfully difficult. Be prepared once you get there to really use some strategy.

(I did beat the game, but then I spent another 5 minutes just blowing the little dog up over and over and over and over!)

Catharsis is fun. :D

I have no idea what the controls are. I do nothing and the puppy gets shot. I click buttons and the puppy gets shot. Help?

You shoot the puppy as soon as you move the mouse or click a button.

In order to not shoot the puppy, don't do any of the above. That's the strategy for the first levels. I'll let you discover the strategy for the higher levels by yourself.

It's like the opposite of a ransom demand. Do NOTHING and the puppy survives. Do ANYTHING and the puppy dies. How much patience do YOU have? :D

aabh -- the difficulty comes from one's degree of patience. I can only sit and stare at the thing for so long before I think of all the other more productive things I could be doing. So I never made it past level 7. I'm not "zen" enough. ;-)
