That's an Animaniacs quote, for those of you who don't know. But no, today's topic is not television. (I know, some of you are shocked.)
No, instead, I'm recounting a story of my friend who has a touch of coulrophobia. That's fear of clowns, for those of you who didn't know. (Cause, hey -- they've got a name for the fear of anything.) She also had a birthday last month. And has a diabolically evil sister.
This evil woman solicited everyone in her e-mail address book to send a birthday card to her sister with a scary clown picture. My friend must have received two dozen of them at least, and I swear each one was more unsettling than the last.
Well, it all culminated in a package sent by the evil sister herself, which contained this "present":
My friend has promised that retribution will be mighty. And I can't say I blame her. That thing creeps me out, and I've frankly never understood the whole "fear of clowns" thing.

I would like... no love the chance to help your friend with paybacks!!! It's on like Donky Kong!!!!!!
every fall at Busch Gardens they re-vamp the park and call it Howl-O-Scream. I went last year and it was a lot more than I expected. it almost seemed like a completely different place. whole areas of the park were set up like giant haunted houses. in Italy there is one called Last Laugh Industries complete with hideous clowns all over the place.
to those 'round here in the fall, I highly recommend going to Howl-O-Scream. the Festhaus meal show is MUCH better (helllooooo nurse!!)
the mole
I don't get the fear of clowns thing. I think the one in the picture is way cool. I do have a fear of bridges and some wicked claustrophobia, so I feel your pain, clown terror sufferers. Irrational fears FTW!
Now, what I'm interested in is something else in the picture.
Behind the clown's feet (look at the enlarged photo), we can make out an entire row of what seems to be Warhammer 40,000 supplements (some boxed).
The question then becomes: where was the picture taken? And is your lady friend a Warhammer 40k maniac?
See, a girl who enjoys Warhammer 40k is BOUND to have a few other disorders, such as irrational fears. Nature just works that way.
*MY* girlfriend? Completely insane. But on the up side she loves boardgaming.

Officially, HOLY CRAP THAT'S AN EVIL CLOWN!! I thought some of the cards were disturbing.
But then Dave and I were the evil bastards that set up the life size clown outside the front door for halloween one year, so..I'm not blameless.
But I didn't send THAT evil thing.
It's like the evil version of the Poltergeist clown. (shiver)
Good eye, FKL!
Her boyfriend is WAY into Warhammer 40K. Those are his toys. But that said, she's into games, and very into geeky sci-fi action figures and such.
Scared me too - looks a bit like Brad after a night at the bars.
