Just Take Those Old Records Off the Shelf...

Forbes.com recently ran an article identifying the 10 most risky businesses to start up. They have a silly slide show to step you through them, but in short, they've gone with ridiculously broad categories and generated this list:

Transportation
Apparel Stores
Restaurants And Bars
Communications
Travel Agencies And Tour Operators
Food Stores
Personal Services
Auto Repair
Trucking
Money Services Businesses

So... basically, they could have just written an article that said, "thinking of starting a business? Don't." Because I'm hard-pressed to think of anything that's not covered on that list.

What happened to journalism? Seriously. Even Forbes has stooped to "text to draw you in so we can bombard you with advertising."

Communications? I guess my morse code expertise won't be needed after all. And still paying on those damn student loans.

Journalism isn't about reporting news anymore - it's about making news. If there's not a worthwhile story, make one up.

Or pretend you're breaking a story that everyone already knows.

Cue Ric Romero. ;)

So the point of this article was "if your business involves other people, don't bother?"

Hell, anyone who's ever worked with the public could have told you that. hehe!

what a horrible article. I'll quote Homer Simpson "you tried your best and failed. the lesson here is never try."
