This Week's Trivia

We missed first place by 2 points in tonight's trivia. Any one of the three questions we missed along the way would have netted us enough to come out on top. See if you could have helped, had you been there. (Remember, no research -- you have to answer these right there in your "virtual bar," in the time it takes to play one "virtual song.")

1) Which "infantile" singer or band performed the 1999 song "Bills, Bills, Bills?"

2) According to Genesis, on which day did God create the sun, moon, and stars?

And then there was the final, 4-part question, in which we only answered three of the four correctly:

3) Name four of the five countries to be most visited by tourists in 2003.

A1) Destiny's Child.

This was actually the middle part of a 3-part question. They also wanted to know the "infantile" singer or band behind 1994's "Come Out and Play" (which we knew to be The Offspring), and 1994's "When Can I See You?" (which we correctly ass-pulled as Babyface). Not knowing the song in question, though, the first "infantile" answer we could think of was Kid Rock. Incorrect.

A2) On the fourth day.

A3) The top three, which we guess correctly, were France, the United States, and Italy.

We debated for as long as we could about answering England, Spain, or Greece as our fourth -- strongly leaning toward Greece. At the last minute, Mexico snuck in there, and we used that answer.

But the correct fourth and fifth choices were Spain and -- you probably won't believe this -- China.

who knew that the great wall was a tourist trap.

Wait a second...is visiting HongKong considered to be visiting China? That may be it.

I wonder if "tourist" is simply a lumping of "foreign visitors". Remember that China is a large draw for Chinese adoptions. Some friends of ours did just that.

What a dumb sentence in my previous post! China is a big draw for foreign adoptions, period. Duh!
